The Irreplaceable Human: Leveraging Humanity's Uniqueness in an AI World
Craig Shallahamer, OraPub and Viscosity NA
In this presentation, we'll dive into what makes us uniquely human compared to AI and robots. We'll explore traits like our frailty, adaptability, agency, and emotional intelligence, and how these qualities shape our relationships. On the flip side, we'll examine the strengths of AI and robots, such as their efficiency and precision. Even though AI and robots can perform tasks with incredible accuracy, they don't experience growth, decay, or emotional depth the way we do.

The key takeaway is that AI and robots won't outshine us as long as we appreciate and nurture what makes us human. This session is all about using technology to enhance and amplify our lives without losing sight of our unique human qualities. Join us to discuss how we can let AI enhance our humanity rather than replace it.

A Quickstart Guide to Oracle Visual Builder and Redwood
Peter Koletzke, Independent
You may have already heard about Visual Builder (VB) — Oracle's low-code, user interface, cloud development tool— and how, although it is a layer that generates JavaScript code, you do not have to be a JavaScript expert to create enterprise solutions for your organization. However, although you are familiar with other Oracle user interface development tools like APEX, JET, ADF, or Forms, you are wary of a steep learning curve. You might also be unsure about what type of developer is right for VB work. This presentation demystifies these doubts. It starts by explaining where Visual Builder fits in the Oracle tools offerings as well as what kind of licenses you need to develop and run code that you create. Then it shows the Visual Builder development tasks and features used to create an application so you can get a taste for the environment. Visual Builder is closely tied to Oracle Redwood, the design paradigm Oracle uses to create their Fusion/Cloud applications. Redwood principles are highly evolved and well documented, so you can use them to guide your application designs regardless of whether the apps are part of the Fusion/Cloud applications or are standalone apps. This session explains Redwood fundamentals and how to get the most out of Redwood's rich set of application design guidelines both inside and outside of Visual Builder.

So Who Does JSON Better? Oracle or MongoDB?
Valli Ramanathan, Freddie Mac
RDBMS has been the foundation of data transaction management for multiple decades. Over the recent years, data has changed from the traditional forms, and we are dealing with JSON data types more and more. All applications are written to ingest JSON documents. Mongo ,the NOSQL Database, is good at handling JSON documents and has carved a space for itself in the data space. How does Oracle handle JSON? Since Oracle introduced JSON in version 12, it has come a long way. It is stored and handled expertly by Oracle and with the newer versions, there are more features that are available, some that even show up MongoDB. JSON data and XML data can be used in Oracle Database in similar ways as it is used in MongoDB. Unlike relational data, both can be stored, indexed, and queried without any need for a schema that defines the data. The presentation will go over how JSON is handled by Oracle and compare it with MongoDB. Specific use cases will be explored to show the best features of both and compare them to gain an understanding of the best options available for handling JSON documents in Oracle.

Get Started With Oracle on Containers
Sean Scott, Viscosity NA
Linux containers are fast, efficient, and portable solutions that are well-known for running applications and services. These benefits apply equally to Oracle databases, yet they remain poorly understood in the database community thanks to misconceptions that lead database administrators to overlook them. Even the common explanation, describing containers as "lightweight" virtual machines, suggests they're less capable than legacy technologies. That is hardly the case! In fact, containers are equal to or superior to virtual and physical hosts.
Go from "Zero to Hero" and learn how easy it is to run Oracle databases in containers using nearly any hardware (even laptops) to build environments for performance testing, perfecting disaster recovery procedures, preparing for certifications, evaluating new features, and more. Participants will learn to build and run Oracle databases in containers and gain valuable insight into how containers work and interact with host systems.

Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Single Sign On (SSO) Architecture
Soujit Ghosh, AppSys Global Inc.
OAM integrates with OID for user mgt. Oracle Database stores user identities and privileges and is integrated with OAM for authentication and authorization. OID stores and manages user identities, groups, and privileges and serves as central user repository. AD is integrated with Oracle IAM to leverage existing user accounts and groups. OVD has a unified view of multiple identity repositories like OID, AD, databases and allows applications to access identities without knowing the underlying data source. The user authenticates to OAM, which validates credentials against OID or AD, and OAM retrieves user's groups and privileges from OID or AD. Finally, OAM authorizes user's access to application based on policies stored in OAM.
